OVERVIEW: RIZOME is pioneering climate-positive bamboo engineered lumber with a goal of sequestering 10 gigatons of CO2 by 2050. Bamboo’s technical characteristics are far superior to wood (fire resistance, 2x strength) and will be cheaper than wood by this time next year. The company built its first manufacturing plant in 2019 in the Philippines, 100% of production pre-sold through 2020, and is looking for mission-aligned funders to grow manufacturing.
