This IN PERSON tour will highlight LA's newest green building product technology, the ByBlock, the first construction-grade building material made entirely from post consumer plastic, and the Blocker system, the ultimate landfill diversion solution.
A waste to infrastructure company and member of our 2019 Net Zero Accelerator cohort, ByFusion is on a mission to enable communities, corporations, and governments to build with their plastic waste while cleaning up the planet. During the tour, you’ll see the ByFusion Blocker System in action converting landfill-diverted plastic waste to ByBlocks. The founder will discuss the properties of ByBlock and the Blocker System technology using only steam and compression to repurpose unsorted co-mingled plastic waste without secondary processing, additives or fillers. You’ll see how ByBlock works purposefully with other materials such as timber framing, steel, window, doors, exterior cladding and roof structure. The Head of Product Development will lead the demonstration build of an 80-120 square foot ByPad unit diverting 2 tons of hard-to-recycle and unrecyclable plastic.
