FOCUS: Net Zero Carbon and Energy, Building Envelope Decarbonization
BamCore is pioneering a worldwide adoption of nature's fastest and strongest growing renewable fibers into the built world to help mitigate the impacts of climate change, the housing crisis, and poverty in the global south. It is a viable and immediately scalable solution.
BamCore utilizes regenerative annually harvestable carbon fibers, industrialized construction techniques, and disruptive technology to manufacture engineered climate-positive building materials. BamCore's patented structural framing system harnesses the fast carbon-capturing power and strength of timber bamboo, making construction stored carbon a viable means of mitigating the climate and housing crisis. In addition, the system delivers high-performance code-compliant buildings that are energy-efficient, strong, safe, quiet, and more quickly and easily installed than conventional construction. The prefabricated easy 'build-by-numbers' method reduces job site waste and enables builders to provide fast, sustainable, high-quality, cost-effective, and sturdy buildings that are also carbon sinks.
BamCore is a structural panel system that solves the main problems of construction. They integrate timber bamboo with a specially engineered wood core, and then custom fabricate panels to millimeter accuracy for every job. Their panels are strong enough to nearly eliminate the need for studs, post, headers, etc. Insulation is blown into an open cavity, providing dramatically improved acoustic and thermal insulation.
Because the panels are precut, there is no jobsite waste, and no need for tools beyond a nail gun. The time to install our panels compared to standard framing is about a 50% reduction. They also paint instructions, provided by follow-on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractors, directly on the panels, which speeds up their work flow. And, because timber bamboo is an annually regrowing grass it provided for a much better carbon profile for our product compared to timber framing methods.
